Increasingly we’re seeing Operators’ move into a space that has been dominated by device manufacturers in recent history. Not so long ago Operators’, like T-Mobile, controlled the flow of content from their portals to end-users. Apple changed this landscape by delivering their own application store to supply their customers with ringtones, applications and other content. Loading iPhone Ad-Hoc builds in Windows

If you’ve ever had to get a development iPhone application to a customer, or Beta-tester, you are aware of the myriad of issues that can arise when trying to load iPhone applications on a Windows-based platform. On a Mac the steps are fairly straight-forward. You simply build an Ad-Hoc version of your application and send it off along with the corresponding provisioning profile. The ever-changing face of E-Readers and Tablet PC’s

Tablet PC’s first rose into the spot-light in 2001 with Microsoft unveiling the first of what was a quickly abandoned product line. Lack of acceptance and prohibitive cost combined to keep Tablets from really entering the main stream.

Today the landscape is much different. Mobile devices have already taken over many of the tasks formerly associated with traditional computers – email, instant messaging, web browsing. Touch screens and stylus interfaces have become common place. It is in this new paradigm that Apple has seen an opportunity to create a new generation of tablet computers they are terming Slates.
